A Delicious Dessert

So many Thanks to my Dearest friend Lynn for this wonderful simple Recipe.  ( I like simple)  If i'm telling this right her Grandmother use to make this but with a lot more butter than we did, but I can only imagine how rich and yummy it was.
Whatcha Need:

1 Can Crushed Pineapple (Drained)
1 Can Cherry Pie Filling (Low fat if you wannabe healthy)
1 Box Jiffy Yellow cake mix
I think we used ½ cup of butter (Melted), give or take (we Used Land o Lakes Light Butter)
*Just as a thought, i found a similar recipe that used Sprite/7-up/Sierra Mist instead of butter.
We are going to try that one too eventually!

Starting off dump Crushed pineapples (be sure they are drained) into 9x9 baking dish spread out to the edges:

Next dump out Cherry Pie filling and spread out to the edges:

Next shake cake mix all over till mostly evenly spread over other two layers.
Finally drizzle melted butter over top (not perfectly) :

Baking was a hit or miss really, we started at 325 degrees then bumped it up to 350 to get the top nice and brown.  It took approximately 25 -30 minutes.   So if you decide to make this check on it after 20 minutes till the is a golden brown color (A little darker if you want it a bit crispy).

An Afterthought scoop of vanilla Ice Cream would have been great with this but, we didn’t think about it at the time.

Ipsy Bag came in today!!!

I got my Ipsy.com Bag today!!  HORRAY!!  Pretty in Pink is the name of this month’s bag, and it came with some very nice stuff!

This month inside the cute white and pink trimmed zipper make-up bag I received Blush from Be a Bombshell called “Beach Please.”  It’s a very bright Pink blush, don’t know if I’d ever where it but it is a pretty pink color!   Next up I received eye shadow from Two Cosmetics called “Heartache Duo Eye Shadow”  two shades of pink in a small container.  Also received was small travel bottle of “Healthy Sexy Hair” by SexyHair A renewal lotion for your hair with Argon oil!  Can’t wait to try this out after my shower this evening! Lastly in this cute little bag I got Nail Polish from Sation A very pretty (you guessed it)  Light Pink color called “Love at First Byte”

Sorry my photos aren’t that great, my lighting in my room is horrid,  but still wanted to share for those of my friends that haven’t looked into an Ipsy bag yet. (what are you waiting for!?)  I’m not a Pink person, but $10 for all this!!  This was Amazing!!!

This is the Ipsy.com image of the products! (Except I got the other hair product)

My First Quilt

OK So several weeks ago. I was skimming through YouTube Crafting tutorials and came across this wonderful Lady, Vanessa Wilson, The Crafty Gemini ( Link to her Blog )

So after a week She posted a video on the Victorian Modern Quilt Along. I watched the first one and found it interesting. It wasn't until after the 2nd video where she explains how to cut and sew the pieces that I began digging through my stash of Scraps. I was rather lucky to have just enough to do the two sets of Squares and they all match each other!

The strips that I put around these piece however were a mismatch of Odd material I had laying around! Although I was Fortunate to have enough of the Red hearts to make a border around the whole thing :) Many thanks to my Aunt who let me borrow her table to get the layout correct for sewing later :)

My friends Cats wanted inspect my work.
Please note the mix of boarders.

When I get the completed quilt laid out I'll snap a photo and add it here later :)

Pizza Balls!!!

OK  So circulating its way around Facebook recently, Someone "shared"  this web page:

http://modernmommyhood.com/2012/06/pizza-balls-recipe.html

Those looked SOOOOOO GOOD!!!  that, or I was just in an "I want pizza"  mood.  So I Asked my friend if I could come over and borrow her kitchen and she and I have a nice lunch/dinner.  She was on board and was curious to see what a pizza ball was.

So here's our adventure with the recipie!  1st up, getting everything we will need together!

Egg in a cup, muffin pan, no stick spray, & recipe
(Ragu sauce far in the back)

Grands Biscuits, Turkey Pepperoni, Colby and mozzarella cheese.
The Amber glass was our rolling pin  ;D
(Ignore the banana's they wanted a cameo)

Sorry I forgot to take pictures during the making process,
but we added Ragu INSIDE the ball and for dipping.

OH such golden brown goodness!!  Well, except the three
that had a cheesy explosion on the muffin pan.

Here they are more presentable for consumption :)

Finally  it was served with a side salad with Balsamic Raspberry Vinagarette,  and spoonful of Ragu sauce for dipping the pizza balls!

Over all this was a success, we did however discover that there was MORE bread than anything else.  Next time we are going for the layered Grands biscuits and using half of a biscuit at a time.  Also maybe rub the seasonings into the dough itself.  We will see :)  However we did also discuss other yummy recipes that would work with this aside from pepperoni and Cheese ;)  However!  that's for another Blog :)
